Children & Youth Month - April 2011

Covington Mayor Candace Watkins (also a member of Unit 16) signed a proclamation declaring April 2011 as "Children & Youth Month." Present for the event were front row left to right Unit 16 Little Miss Poppy 2011-2012 Cheyenne Lafleur and Mayor Watkins. Back row left to right Past Unit 16 President Elizabeth Rice, Unit 16 President Betty McArthur, Honorary Unit 16 Junior President Treaser McArthur, Past Post 16 Commander Mike Peats, S.A.L.s Squadron 16 Sgt-at-Arms Dylan McArthur and Post 16 member David Rice. The Robert H. Burns American Legion Post 16 Family presented 1,000 “Play it Safe” brochures to area schools.

"Poppy Month" - May 2011
